Reprinted from the Salt Lake Tribune June 20, 2002 STATE OF THE STATE SANPETE -- A California illustrator and his partners are turning illusions into reality with their purchase and refurbishing of the old industrial arts building at North Sanpete High in Mt. Pleasant. Dean Kleven, who has been a computer illustrator for Disney and DreamWorks, moved here 18 months ago. He plans to turn the old building into a high-tech center housing a new business, The Illusion Academy. The partners hope to work on special effects, short subjects and eventually a feature-length movie. Kleven's partners are Bo Landsem, Keith Averett, Jason Quinn and Bryan Spencer. The group will also teach weekly free courses on computer illustration and Web design. -- Messenger-Enterprise |
